Anti-Carbonation Coating
Type
Single or two-component Elastomeric
Elongation
>200% (crack bridging)
Protecting Concrete for Decades.

Anti-Carbonation Coating

Francolor's Anti-Carbonation Coating range provides a highly flexible, impermeable elastomeric barrier that prevents CO₂, chloride ions, and moisture from penetrating concrete, protecting embedded steel reinforcement from corrosion.

Concrete structures, especially in urban environments, face significant carbonation-related deterioration. Our elastomeric coatings not only block CO₂ diffusion but also bridge existing micro-cracks and accommodate structural movement — providing unparalleled long-term protection with a clean, aesthetic finish.

Key Features

  • Effectively blocks CO₂ diffusion
  • Bridges micro-cracks up to 1mm
  • Water vapour permeable (breathable)
  • Excellent UV and weathering resistance
  • Aesthetically pleasing smooth finish
  • Long service life — 15+ years

Applications

  • Metro viaducts & flyovers
  • Bridges & overpasses
  • Multi-storey car parks
  • Industrial & commercial buildings
  • Coastal concrete structures
  • Pre-stressed concrete elements
Vinyl Ester High Build Glass Flakes Coating
Type
Two-component Vinyl Ester + Glass Flake
DFT Range
500–2000 µm
Ultimate Chemical Immersion Protection.

Vinyl Ester High Build Glass Flakes Coating

The gold standard in chemical immersion protection, Francolor's Vinyl Ester Glass Flake Coating range provides a virtually impermeable barrier against the most aggressive chemicals, acids, and solvents in tank lining and splash zone applications.

Glass flake reinforcement significantly reduces the diffusion of corrosive media through the coating, while the vinyl ester resin binder provides exceptional chemical resistance across a broad pH range. These systems are designed for long-term immersion service in highly aggressive environments.

Key Features

  • Glass flake reinforcement for minimal permeability
  • Excellent resistance to HCl, H₂SO₄, NaOH
  • Suitable for continuous immersion service
  • Self-priming on grit-blasted steel
  • High film build in fewer coats
  • Superior abrasion resistance

Applications

  • Chemical storage tank linings
  • Acid & solvent storage vessels
  • Offshore structural protection
  • Sewage & effluent systems
  • Petrochemical processing equipment
  • Desalination plant structures

Our surface preparation range covers everything from initial rust-converting primers through to zinc-rich anti-corrosive primers and high-build sealer coats. Designed to work seamlessly with our finishing coat systems, these products ensure system integrity from substrate to topcoat.

Key Features

  • Zinc-rich cathodic protection primers
  • Two-pack epoxy zinc phosphate primers
  • Surface tolerant formulations for tight deadlines
  • MIO (Micaceous Iron Oxide) barrier primers
  • Flash rust inhibiting formulations
  • Compatible with all major topcoat types

Applications

  • New steel construction
  • Maintenance recoating projects
